Men’s Soccer Sam Agosti Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer sophomore Sam Agosti was named to the second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

CoSIDA recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance athletically and in the classroom.

The Seattle native is one of two sophomores to be named to the first- or second-team on the All-America team and the only West Coast Conference player honored.

Agosti boasts a 3.93 grade point average as a business major.  He appeared in 15 matches, including starting in all but one West Coast Conference matches with two assists to his credit.  The forward logged 619 minutes in conference play out of 651 available minutes.

The last Bronco to garner an academic All-America honor was defender Matt Hatzke in 2007 when he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team.
