Meet the Future of Bronco Men’s Soccer – Sakari Carter
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer announced the second member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, Sakari Carter.  The center back currently attends Ingraham High School in Seattle, Washington.

"I chose Santa Clara University because it offers excellent academic opportunities and a top-notch soccer program, all in a great environment which will provide me with the best opportunities moving forward," said Carter.

The five-foot-eleven center back plays for the club team Seattle Sounders Academy.

"Sakari or 'Saku' is just a well-traveled, experienced back.  He plays in a MLS pro academy for his development.  He's in a great development model where the level that he plays at and trains at will help him continue to grow all the way through this year and prepare him when he arrives on campus.  So that part of his preparation will be tremendous," said Broncos head coach Cameron Rast.  "He also played a bit over in France as one of the very few non-French players ever to get invited to select teams to train.  And because of that, his talent and ability starts to come out and show what he's capable of.

"We're excited about him and looking forward to having him in.  We think he will provide a great standard in our training and hopefully be able to earn some playing time on the field, maybe even early in his career.  Besides that, Sakari is a great student going to a very good school.  He took a rigorous course load.  We think we got the wholte package in that young man."

Our next future Bronco, Emil Christensen, will be announced the week of Feb. 26.
