Meet the Future of Bronco Men’s Soccer – Bishop Washington
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer announced the fifth member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, Bishop Washington.  The midfielder is currently attending a boarding school, Shattuck-Saint Mary's, in Faribault, Minnesota.

"I chose Santa Clara because I have always had the passion and desire to learn. I knew Santa Clara's rigorous academics would challenge, yet aid my perspective development. I also decided to become a Bronco because of the prestigious soccer program. What really tied it all together for me was my official visit, I loved the campus, coaches and atmosphere," said Washington.

The five-foot-nine midfielder originally hails from Portland, Oregon.  His father, Miron, was on the Santa Clara University crew and rugby teams.

"Bishop is a young man that understands what Santa Clara soccer is all about as his father is a Santa Clara graduate.  Bishop is a quality midfielder out of a prep school in Minnesota, Shattuck-Saint Mary's and players move to Shattuck because they are serious about their game and want a quality education.  We are looking for some depth at midfield and he's a player that works hard and can connect his passes to help establish great rhythm in the game," said Broncos head coach Cameron Rast.
