Pronunciations
THE AGGIES

UC Davis (4-0-2) is currently ranked No. 17 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Rankings and off to its best start since the 2014 season.  Saturday's match at Aggie Soccer Field is only the second home match of the year, having playing five of the first six matches on the road.

The Aggies are led by head coach Dwayne Shaffer who is in his 22nd year at the helm compiling an overall record of 212-172-56.  Last season, the Aggies finished 11-7-3 and advanced to the Big West conference championship match for the second time in the program's history.  The 11 wins were the third most in program history.

UC Davis returns 12 letterwinners including three – senior defender Roy Boateng, junior midfielder Adam Mickelson and sophomore midfielder Nabi Kibunguchy - that were named on the preseason all-conference team.

Boateng, the reigning Big West Defensive Player of the Year, spearheads the Aggies defensive unit that posted a 0.70 goals against average in conference play with five shutouts in 2017.  The Aggies defense is just as stingy this season with a 0.67 goals against average.   Goalkeeper Wallis Lapsley has three clean sheets to his credit allowing just three goals with a .864 save percentage in 576 minutes of play.

Mickleson, who led the team in points (15) and assists (7) in 2017 again leads the team in both categories this season with nine points and three assists (along with Robert Mejia) to go along with three goals.
