Men's Soccer Sophomore Named All-West Region
 
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Santa Clara men's soccer sophomore Javier Ruiz Duran was recognized with yet another post-season award, this time being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region team.  The United Soccer Coaches announced on Wednesday.  
 
Ruiz Duran earned third team honors making him the first Bronco to be named to the All-West Region team since 2012 when Erik Hurtado was named first team and Larry Jackson to the third team.  Ruiz Duran is the 22nd Bronco overall to be named to the United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) All-Region team.    
 
Last month, the Bronco midfielder garnered second team All-West Coast Conference honors along with conference All-Academic honorable mention recognition.
 
The left-footer from Barcelona, Spain led the Broncos in goals (6), assists (5), points (17), shots (40) and shots on goal (18) while playing all 17 matches this season to go along with a 3.318 cumulative grade point average majoring in economics.
