After a successful 10-year professional career that included extended playing time with the U.S. National Team, the 2016 season marks the eighth year former Bronco Jeff Baicher has served as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater.

Baicher has helped his former teammate, Bronco head coach Cameron Rast, lead Santa Clara to three WCC Championships (2007, 2010, 2015) as a coach.

At SCU he was named the 1989 WCC Offensive MVP of the Year, honored as a two-time All-WCC first team player and was voted the MVP of the 1989 Final Four when the Broncos won the NCAA title. He also received an All-American award in 1990. He still holds the school record for career assists with 37 and the single season record with 20 assists. He ranks fifth all-time in points scored with 67.

He received a bachelor's degree in communication at Santa Clara in 1991.

In 1991 Baicher signed his first pro contract with the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks (APSL). Shortly after his first pro season he was sent on loan to play overseas in Manchester, England for the Manchester United Reserves. He continued to play professionally and was selected in the MLS Draft In 1996. He joined the MLS Clash (now the San Jose Earthquakes) where he played until 2000. While with the Clash he was named the player of the week 10 times. He was then traded to the New England Revolution and the following year he went to the Kansas City Wizards, his last stop in a six-season stretch of MLS soccer.

He joined the Force Soccer Club in 2004 as both a coach and the Boys Coaching Director, and was named the president of the club in 2006. Before his time with the Broncos, Baicher was a member of the Foothill Junior College state championship team, where he received Junior College All-American honors. Baicher played soccer in the Santa Clara County area for the Sunnyvale United Soccer club beginning at an early age.

Baicher resides in Campbell, Calif., with his wife, Dana, and their two daughters, Sarah and Emily.
