Men's Tennis Falls to No. 22 Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's tennis team fell to 22nd-ranked Pepperdine 7-0 this afternoon at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu. The Broncos' record falls to 7-10 overall, 3-3 in the West Coast Conference. The Waves improve to 11-8 overall.

Pepperdine swept all three doubles matches and then captured five of the six singles matches in straight sets.

Junior Calle Hansen, ranked No. 49 nationally, earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over junior Erich Chen at the No. 1 singles slot. In doubles, junior Diego Acuna and Hansen, ranked 10th by the ITA, posted an 8-3 victory over the tandem of Michael Bruggemann and Chen.

The Broncos will continue league action this week, taking on Loyola Marymount on Saturday. The match against the Lions will take first serve at noon.
