Postponed Men's Tennis Match Moves to Monday

April 3, 2003

MORAGA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's tennis match at Saint Mary's that was rescheduled for this afternoon has been postponed until Monday, due to academic commitments.

Originally scheduled for a Wednesday match against the Gaels, the teams opened the contest with singles play, as inclement weather was on its way. After an hour, action was suspended due to rain. The squads rescheduled for this afternoon, but agreed to move the match to Monday once academic conflicts with the student-athletes was discovered.

The match will now be played at 3 p.m. at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex in Moraga. According to ITA rules, all scores will be thrown out from Wednesday's action and the match will follow the standard format (doubles first, followed by singles). The coaches from both teams, however, have agreed to stop play once the match has been clinched.

The Broncos will visit Fresno State this Saturday for a 2 p.m. match against the Bulldogs.
