Tennis to Host Clinic for Kids

Nov. 12, 2002

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Bronco Men's and Women's Tennis Teams will host a free clinic for kids this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara University Tennis Center.

The clinic will focus on teaching kids the basics of tennis through instruction, games, snacks, speakers, and some fun prizes.

The idea for the clinic was spurred from a group project for Professor Doug Sweet's Writing for Business class. The group consists of Tamra Bidegary, Lindsay Back, Meghan Freeman and Women's Tennis senior team member Christine Limbers.

"We are excited to have the privilege to work with the kids," the group stated. "We are extremely thankful for the opportunity we have to be students and tennis players at Santa Clara. Our desire is to make these kids feel like part of the Santa Clara family by showing them how fun and rewarding it can to be involved in the sport of tennis."

There is still space available for interested kids. The Santa Clara Tennis Center is located directly south of the Leavey Center. To RSVP or for more information, call 408-554-6921 or kidz@scu.edu.
