Tennis Teams Compete in Fall Events

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's tennis team will continue fall action this week, while the women's tennis squad will open its fall season.

The Bronco men will compete at the 11th annual Bulldog classic, hosted by Fresno State at the Wathen Tennis Center. Competition will begin on Friday and continue through Sunday.

The women's team will participate in the Arizona State Fall Invitational, hosted by the University at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz. Competition will begin on Friday and continue through Sunday. Teams from Marquette and New Mexico will also compete.

On Friday and Saturday, the round-robin format will feature one round of pro-set doubles starting at 9 a.m. followed by two rounds of singles. After the singles are completed, each day will end with one more round of pro-set doubles. On Sunday, one round of pro-set doubles will begin at 9 a.m. followed by two more rounds of singles to end the Invitational.

The men's squad will close out the fall at the ITA Regional Championship October 17-20 and the Southern California Intercollegiate November 5-9. The women's team will continue Oct. 17-19 at the Saint Mary's Invitational in Moraga, and conclude the following week at the ITA Regional Championship, hosted by Stanford Oct. 24-26.
