FRESNO, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's tennis team concluded action at the 11th annual Bulldog classic, hosted by Fresno State at the Wathen Tennis Center.
Gernot Fischer advanced to the semifinals before falling to USC's Drew Hoskins 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Kevin McQuaid competed in the quarterfinals, but lost his first match of the season 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 to Saint Mary's Martin Marechal. McQuaid leads the team with a 5-1 record.
"We're getting better each tournament and we're coming together as a team," SCU head coach George Husack said. "We're learning to compete as a team, which we need to take us through the fall and last through the spring season."
The Broncos will close out the fall season at the ITA Regional Championship October 17-20 and the Southern California Intercollegiate November 5-9.
