SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's tennis team will host the Banana Slugs from Division III No. 5 UC Santa Cruz on Wed., Jan. 26. The Broncos are looking to build on their winning streak.
UC Santa Cruz is currently ranked No. 5 in Division III and is coming off of a 6-1 lost against Division I No. 64 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo last week. The Broncos are looking to continue their winning streak after defeating Sonoma State and UC Davis in an opening-day double-header last Saturday.
In the last meeting against UC Santa Cruz, Tom Pham and Eugene Muchynski grabbed a doubles win to give the Broncos an edge going into the singles play. Muchynski went on to dominate Sam Rogers to secure a 4-0 victory over the Banana Slugs.
First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 26, at the Degheri Tennis Center.
