Bronco Men's Tennis Ranked No. 5 in Northwest and No. 68 Nationally; Several Broncos Ranked Individually
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings of 2013, the Santa Clara men’s tennis team made both the national and regional rankings while several Broncos received individual recognition as well.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After the Bronco men’s tennis team made their first NCAA tournament appearance and set numerous program records last season, expectations were high heading into the 2012-13 campaign. Santa Clara faced unexpected adversity throughout the season, however, disrupting its attempt at another NCAA run.

John Lamble Named First-Team All-WCC; Two Singles Player and Two Doubles Teams Named All-WCC Honorable Mention
Bronco men's tennis player John Lamble, who played No. 1 singles for the Santa Clara team, was named First-Team All-West Coast Conference for the 2013 season. Thomas Pham and Matt Kecki were both named All-WCC Honorable Mention in Singles. Kecki and Pham and Lamble and Ilya Ostintsev were also named All-WCC Honorable Mention in Doubles.

No. 60 Men's Tennis Falls to USF in WCC Tournament Quarterfinals; Tom Pham Ties All-Time Doubles Wins Record
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 60 Bronco men’s tennis team gave it their all in the WCC tournament, fighting until the end but ultimately falling 4-2 in the quarterfinals to University of San Francisco. The Broncos got off to a fast start by winning the doubles point, but USF battled back and raised its level of play in singles to take the match. The Dons snapped the Broncos season-best four match winning streak.

No. 60 Bronco Men's Tennis Defeats Gonzaga 4-0 in First Round of WCC Tournament; Face USF Thursday in Quarterfinals
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Santa Clara men’s tennis team came out focused and energized in its opening-round match of the WCC tournament. No. 4 Santa Clara bested No. 9 Gonzaga by a 4-0 final. The Broncos earned a quarterfinal showdown with University of San Francisco who the Broncos defeated 4-3 on April 13. The Broncos, ranked No. 60 nationally, used a dominant doubles performance and wins from all three seniors to take down the Bulldogs.

Men's Tennis Senior Tom Pham Named to WCC First-Team All-Academic Team For Second Straight Year
Santa Clara men's tennis senior Thomas Pham has been named to the West Coast Conference First Team All-Academic Team. Already the school record holder in career singles wins, Pham carries a 3.60 GPA in Electrical Engineering.

No. 60 Bronco Men's Tennis Travels to WCC Tournament as No. 4 Seed; Face No. 9 Seed Gonzaga on Wednesday
The No. 60 Bronco men's tennis team finished the 2013 regular season by winning their third straight match, tying their season high for consecutive victories. Santa Clara bested Portland in a passionate 5-2 win on Senior Day on April 21, clinched fourth place in the West Coast Conference and honored their three seniors with a brief ceremony on a picturesque day at the Mission Campus. The Broncos secured the fourth seed in the WCC Tournament and will face No. 9 Gonzaga on Wednesday in a first-round matchup.

No. 60 Bronco Men's Tennis Beats Portland 5-2 on Senior Day; All Three Seniors Win
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 60 Bronco men’s tennis team finished their regular season on a high note, topping Portland in a passionate 5-2 win over Portland on Senior Day. The Broncos won their third consecutive match, clinched fourth place in the WCC and honored their three seniors with a brief ceremony on a picturesque day at the Mission Campus. After taking the doubles point each Bronco senior won his match to secure the win, and SCU added another victory later for the final 5-2 margin.

No. 60 Bronco Men's Tennis Edges Gonzaga 4-3; Senior Day and BBQ Sunday vs. Portland
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 60 Bronco men’s tennis pulled out a nail-biting win on Friday, edging Gonzaga by a tight 4-3 final. The Broncos gained an early lead with the doubles point and scraped by the Bulldogs behind Tomasz Soltyka’s clutch victory. Battling tricky weather conditions and a motivated Gonzaga squad, Santa Clara dug deep and squeezed out its sixth 4-3 win of the season. The Broncos can clinch the fourth seed in the WCC Tournament April 25-27 with a victory on Sunday.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 60 Bronco men's tennis team, coming off an exciting 4-3 win over USF April 13, will look to win its final two regular season matches this weekend, including senior day on Sunday. The Broncos downed USF last time out for their second conference victory, and with wins this weekend would finish .500 in the WCC while securing the No. 4 seed in the WCC Tournament.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 64 Bronco men’s tennis team picked up a big win on Saturday, topping San Francisco 4-3 in a hard-fought match at home. The Broncos grabbed the doubles point for the early advantage and held on behind three singles wins, snapping their three match losing streak. Santa Clara hosts Gonzaga on Fri., April 19 at 3 pm on the Mission Campus in their second-to-last match before the WCC Tournament.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Bronco men's tennis player John Lamble, who plays number one singles for the Bronco squad, was honored by the WCC on Tuesday as the WCC Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Month for March.

An Inside With The Men's Tennis Team's Newest Member
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - After working in the Athletic Department and covering the men's tennis team throughout this school year, junior Vince Menon (VM) has officially become a member of the team. Menon made his doubles debut on March 1, 2013 at Saint Mary's College and his first singles appearance on March 3rd against UC Irvine. The team has a 13-9 record overall with three more league matches before the WCC Championship Tournament. Last year, the team had one of their most successful years and finished the season ranked No. 33 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. After making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year, Menon and the team hope to once again continue play long after their regular season. SantaClaraBroncos.com (SCB) had the chance to talk to new team member Vince Menon about how is transitioning from covering the team to being a part of it and what it is like playing Division 1 tennis after so many years off.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 64 Bronco men's tennis team returns to the Mission Campus this weekend, looking to pick up a win and build momentum for the season's final stretch. The Broncos faced two very competitive teams on the road last weekend, falling to No. 42 University of San Diego and No. 43 San Diego State. Santa Clara has three remaining matches prior to the WCC Tournament, all against conference foes with sub-.500 WCC records: USF (1-3), Gonzaga (0-5) and Portland (2-3).

No. 56 Bronco Men's Tennis Bested by No. 42 University of San Diego
The Santa Clara men's tennis team gave it their all against No. 42 University of San Diego on Sunday, but came away empty-handed in another tough road match, this time by a 6-1 final. The Broncos will square off against University of San Francisco on Saturday, April 13 in their return to the Mission Campus. The match is scheduled for 11 am at the Degheri Tennis Center.

No. 56 Bronco Men's Tennis Falls to No. 43 San Diego State; Faces No. 42 USD on Sunday
The No. 56 Bronco men's tennis team fell 7-0 at No. 43 San Diego State at the Aztec Tennis Center on Friday. After a practice day Saturday, the Broncos will take on No. 37 San Diego on Sunday in the second and final match of the road trip. The teams are scheduled to begin play at 3 pm at the Hogan Tennis Center.

After a hard-fought defeat to then-No. 6 Pepperdine, the No. 56 Bronco men's tennis team will travel to play two tough matches this weekend. With only five matches remaining before the WCC tournament, the Broncos will look to capitalize on the opportunity to face two ranked teams and keep their hopes of making the NCAA Tournament alive for the second straight year.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 67 Bronco men’s tennis team picked up their first WCC win of the season on Friday, defeating the visiting LMU Lions for their second straight victory. Santa Clara fell behind 3-1 in the match before mounting a furious comeback to secure the 4-3 win.

The Broncos bested the Green Wave behind four determined singles wins, including two come-from-behind, three set victories. Santa Clara's roster returned to full strength after missing several starters the past four weeks.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Despite their strong efforts, the Bronco men’s tennis team came up just short against University of the Pacific on Saturday. Santa Clara fell 4-3, with the difference coming at No. 1 doubles where the Tigers edged SCU 10-8 in a tiebreaker. The loss snapped the Broncos undefeated streak at home – they are now 7-1 at the Degheri Tennis Center -- and their record dropped to 10-5 overall.

Santa Clara has won four of its past five matches and is undefeated (6-0) when playing at the Degheri Tennis Center.

Already School Record Holder, Pham Plays For More
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After recently breaking the all-time singles win record at Santa Clara University with a win over Sonoma State, senior tennis star Tom Pham hopes to continue his great success to make it to the NCAA’s once again. MORAGA, Calif. – The No. 43 Bronco men’s tennis team faced another tough conference foe on Friday, ultimately coming up unsuccessful against St. Mary’s in its second West Coast Conference match of the season. The final score was 5-2 in Moraga, snapping Santa Clara’s three-game win streak. The Broncos are now 8-4 overall and 0-2 in WCC play.

No. 43 Bronco Men's Tennis Travels to St. Mary's Friday, Hosts UC Irvine Sunday
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The return to Santa Clara treated the No. 43 Bronco men’s tennis team very well, as the Broncos continued their solid run by sweeping a doubleheader on Sat., Feb. 16 (5-2 over Sacramento State and 7-0 over Sonoma State) and winning their President’s Day match 6-1 over UC Santa Barbara. The contests marked the first home appearances for Santa Clara since its season-opening sweep on Sat., Jan. 19, and the squad certainly did not disappoint in its return to the Mission Campus.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After winning two matches on Saturday, the No. 37 Bronco men’s tennis team continued building momentum, this time winning 6-1 over No. 70 UC Santa Barbara in a chilly contest at the Degheri Tennis Center on President’s Day. Santa Clara improved its record to 8-3 (0-1 WCC), and it has now won all five matches at home and five of its last six matches overall.

No. 37 Bronco Men's Tennis Picks Up Sweep; Senior Tom Pham Breaks All-Time Singles Wins Record
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 37 Santa Clara Broncos men’s tennis team came up with another sweep on their home courts, this time topping Sacramento State and Sonoma State. Senior Tom Pham broke the all-time wins record by winning both his matches, giving him 75 wins during his outstanding Bronco career.

After earning a split last weekend in Utah, the No. 37 Santa Clara men's tennis team returns to the Mission Campus at last, hosting two Northern California teams in a Sat., Feb. 16 doubleheader. The Broncos have not enjoyed a match on their home courts in nearly one month, as their only appearance in Santa Clara came Jan. 19 during the squad's opening-day sweep over UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz.

PROVO, Utah – In its WCC Opener on Saturday, Santa Clara squared off against No. 50 BYU but came up just short in a tight 4-3 match. The Broncos are now 5-3 (all losses to top 50 teams) while BYU is 7-2. The Broncos had won three of their previous four matches, including two wins over No.37/38 Boise State.

No. 37 Bronco Men's Tennis Rolls 6-1 Over Weber State; Faces BYU In WCC-Opener Saturday
OGDEN, Utah – The No. 37 Santa Clara Bronco men’s tennis team traveled to Utah and took care of business against the Weber State Wildcats, picking up its third win in four matches. With the 6-1 final, Santa Clara improves its record to 5-2 on the season with its only two losses coming to top 25 teams (vs. No. 20 Michigan, at No. 23 Washington).

After earning a split in Seattle, the No. 37 Santa Clara men's tennis team travels to Utah for its fifth and sixth consecutive matches away from the Mission Campus, including its 2013 West Coast Conference opener. Santa Clara will travel to Ogden, Utah to face Weber State on Thur., Feb. 7 at 12 pm. On Sat., Feb. 9 at 12 pm the Broncos will take on West Coast Conference foe BYU in the Broncos first conference match of the year.

The No. 36 Bronco men's tennis team pulled out a thrilling, 4-3 come-from-behind victory against No. 38 Boise State on Saturday in Seattle. It is the second straight Saturday the Broncos have defeated Boise State on a neutral court, winning 4-1 on Jan. 26 at Cal.

Santa Clara improved to 3-1 on the season with the strong 4-1 win. The Broncos finished the weekend tournament with one win and one loss after a tough defeat Friday, 4-1, to No. 20 Michigan.

After completing the most successful season in program history, the Santa Clara men's tennis program will open 2013 with high hopes for another successful campaign. The Broncos’ outstanding and record-breaking 2012 was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as Santa Clara opens the season as the nation’s No. 36-ranked program, a significant improvement from their No. 50 rank at this time last year.

Pham Looks Forward To Bigger and Better As Senior Years Gears Up
Thomas Pham (TP) has had an amazing three years with Bronco’s men's tennis team, and is currently making his fourth and final season just as phenomenal. Deciding to compete at the collegiate level while in high school, Pham has tagged commendable accomplishments onto his experience, such as being apart of the 2012 Bronco team that made history by qualifying for the NCAA tournament, defeating Texas in the first round.

The Santa Clara men’s tennis squad continued its run on the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Regional. Day 2 was highlighted by Santa Clara advancing two players into the Round of 16 and a 3-0 record in doubles.

Santa Clara junior John Lamble (JL) has been helping the men's tennis team's to victory as he and his partner, Ilya Osinstev, were recently named the highest-ranked preseason doubles team in Santa Clara's program history. Whether playing doubles or fighting for a win in a singles match, Lamble has had a passion for tennis from a very young age and hopes to pursue tennis as a career after college.

After breakout performances in 2012, Santa Clara University men’s tennis players John Lamble and Ilya Osintsev have earned national rankings in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's 2012-13 Preseason rankings. Their recent efforts have allowed both Broncos to be invited to the All-American Championship Series held in Sept. 29 through Oct. 6 in Tulsa, Okla.

The Santa Clara University men's tennis team will host open tryouts on Sun., Jan. 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. for students interested in playing for the Broncos, who defeated then-No. 19 Texas in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament before falling to Stanford, who advanced to the Elite Eight.

Looking To Return To NCAA Tournament, Bronco Men's Tennis Announces 2012-13 Schedule
Coming off of the most impressive season in program history, the Santa Clara men's tennis squad released its 2012-13 schedule on Thursday. The Broncos, who finished the year at No. 33 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's final rankings, are schedule to play in two fall tournaments before opening the spring season against UC Santa Cruz and UC Davis on Feb. 19.

No. 33 Santa Clara Men's Tennis Adds Program Bests
This season has been one of many, many firsts for the Bronco men's tennis team. On Thursday, a few more firsts came about. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its final rankings for the year and the No. 33 Santa Clara men’s tennis squad added more program bests. When the ITA released its final singles and doubles rankings, as well as regional rankings, Santa Clara added more program highs to an already splendid season, including a No. 5 finish in the Northwest Region.
