TULSA, Okla. - After being selected as the first Bronco to compete in the Main Draw at the prestigious All-American Championship, 40th-ranked John Lamble dropped his first match to the nation's No. 10 player, KU Singh of Georgia.

In his first match in Tulsa, Lamble was unable to advance after getting paired with the tournament's No. 8 seed (who is also the nation's No. 10) in Singh. Lamble battled against Singh, but fell in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 6-1.

Lamble - a junior from Saratoga, Calif. - became the highest-ranked player in a final Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) poll in Santa Clara school history. Lamble came in at No. 77 last year and in addition, was the highest-ranked player in a preseason ITA poll, beginning this season at No. 40.

He was a Second Team All-West Coast Conference honoree in both singles and doubles during his sophomore season. At his current pace, with two full seasons left, Lamble is on track to break Santa Clara's career singles victory record currently held by Francisco Zepponi '04.
