SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Adding yet another program first, the Santa Clara men's tennis team will be represented for the first time at the National Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y. Junior John Lamble will represent the Broncos in one of the most prestigious collegiate tournaments in the country.

Lamble - a junior from Saratoga, Calif. - received the program's first invitation to the tournament, receiving an at-large bid. Currently ranked No. 40 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's  singles rankings, he will face some of the nation's top singles players.

Lamble will begin play on Thurs., Nov. 8.

Already this fall, Lamble has tallied a few program firsts. He began his fall season playing at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. He was the Bronco to receive a Main Draw bid to the All-American Championships in program history.

At the ITA Regionals, Lamble surged through five matches to reach the finals against a fellow ranked foe, No. 16 Ben McLachlan of Cal.

Overall this fall, Lamble is 5-3. His three losses have all come to players ranked in the nation's top-65 singles players, including two in the top-20.
