Broncos Set Commissioner's Honor Roll Record for Second Straight Year
July 23, 2014The West Coast Conference announced its 13th annual Commissioner's Honor Roll Tuesday, and 141 Santa Clara Broncos were recognized with honors for their athletic success and academic excellence. Santa Clara had 18 student-athletes receive gold honors (3.75-4.00 GPA) and 33 student-athletes receive silver honors (3.50-3.74 GPA). The Broncos set a new record of student athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, breaking the previous mark of 133 in the 2012-13 school year. -
Men's Tennis Ranked No. 56 Nationally and No. 4 in Northwest Region; Lamble and Osintsev Ranked in Northwest Region
June 06, 2014SANTA CLARA, Calif. - For its consistent success on the court throughout the duration of the 2013-14 campaign, the Santa Clara men’s tennis team earned the No. 56 overall ranking in the nation as determined by the ITA. In the Northwest Region, the team locked up the No. 4 overall ranking.

John Lamble Named Senior Player of the Year for Northwest Region by ITA
May 13, 2014SANTA CLARA, Calif. – John Lamble was named the Senior Player of the Year for the Northwest Region by the ITA, earning recognition for his exceptional accomplishments and leadership on and off the court throughout his career. The award is another terrific honor for the decorated Bronco senior, who has had one of most illustrious careers in program history.

Chun Receives Spot on WCC All-Academic Team
May 01, 2014In addition to working hard on the court, Santa Clara’s Logan Chun aced his responsibilities in the classroom. On Thursday, the senior economics major was recently named to the West Coast Conference’s First-Team All Academic Team.

Lamble & Osintsev Named to Men's Tennis All-WCC Tournament Team
April 26, 2014SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference league office announced its Men’s All-Tournament Team on Saturday, and John Lamble and Ilya Osintsev were both honored. The outstanding Bronco duo was named the No. 1 team for the doubles squad. Osintsev was selected as the No. 2 player in the singles lineup.

April 26, 2014SAN DIEGO, Calif. – After a 4-0 win over USF, the No. 59 Bronco men’s tennis team fought hard but was bested 4-2 by No. 44 ranked USD in the WCC Tournament semifinals. The fourth-seeded Broncos gave it their all but San Diego, the No. 1 seed, was too much to overcome.

April 23, 2014SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 59 Bronco men’s tennis team held off St. Mary’s for a thrilling 4-3 win in the first round of the WCC Tournament on Wednesday. With Santa Clara down 3-2, Ilya Osintsev won his third set 7-5 and John Lamble won his third set 6-3 to clinch the victory.

April 21, 2014SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 59 Santa Clara men’s tennis team finished the 2014 regular season fourth in the WCC standings and received the No. 4 seed in the WCC Tournament, beginning on Wednesday. The Broncos wrapped up the dual match season with back-to-back shutout wins over Pacific and St. Mary’s last weekend, and finished 5-4 in conference matches.

No. 60 Men's Tennis Tops Pacific 4-0 on Senior Day; John Lamble’s 80th Career Win Clinches Match
April 19, 2014SANTA CLARA, Calif. – On a beautiful day at the Degheri Tennis Center, the No. 60 SCU men's tennis team played excellent tennis en route to a 4-0 victory over Pacific on Senior Day. The Broncos made an impressive comeback to win the doubles point and they kept rolling in singles to finish the regular season strongly. In the last home match of his career, Bronco senior John Lamble earned the clinching victory for his 80th career singles win.

Ilya Osintsev of No. 60 Men's Tennis Named WCC Singles Player of the Week

It was the third time this season that Osintsev has received the award and he becomes the first player to earn the honor three times this season.

The Broncos knocked off the Ducks, 4-2, on Wednesday and Oregon became the highest-ranked team that Santa Clara has defeated this season.

April 09, 2014SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 67 men's tennis team turned in a tremendous performance on Friday, stepping up its game to earn a 4-2 win over No. 39 Oregon. The Broncos played outstanding tennis and had terrific energy throughout the match in taking down a competitive Ducks squad. At No. 39 in the country, Oregon becomes the highest-ranked team that Santa Clara has defeated this season.

2nd Annual Santa Clara University Tennis Yam Cup
April 09, 2014The Santa Clara University men's and women's tennis teams will host its 2nd Annual SCU Tennis Yam Cup, a rare opportunity to play with the student-athletes and support both programs. The fundraising event will be held at the Degheri Tennis Center on Saturday, May 31st. The cost to attend the event is $20 and FREE for all SCU Tennis Alumni.

No. 67 Men's Tennis Tops BYU on Saturday; Falls to No. 55 USD on Friday
April 06, 2014SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 67 men's tennis team split a pair of WCC matches this weekend, defeating BYU handily in a 6-1 final on Saturday and falling to USD, 4-0, on Friday. In the BYU match, John Lamble picked up his 16th victory of the season and his 76th career win, moving him into second place for all-time singles wins.

April 03, 2014SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 67 Bronco men's tennis team got back to its winning ways against Willamette on Friday and it looks to pick up more victories during the season’s home stretch. Santa Clara is ranked No. 67 nationally in the latest ITA poll and has an 11-4 record in 2014. The team is 8-1 at home, 2-3 on the road, and 1-0 at neutral sites.

Men's Tennis Defeats Willamette 7-0
March 29, 2014The No. 57 Santa Clara men’s tennis team returned home Friday and got back to its winning ways with a 7-0 victory over Willamette College. After hitting the road for its first four West Coast Conference matches, posting a 2-2 record, Santa Clara will host San Diego on April 4 and BYU on April 5.

No. 57 Men's Tennis Falls At No. 49 Pepperdine
March 25, 2014The No. 57 Santa Clara men’s tennis team, on the road for its fourth straight West Coast Conference match to start the season, lost 4-0 at No. 49 Pepperdine on Tuesday afternoon in Malibu. The Broncos return to the Mission campus to host Willamette Fri., March 28 at 12 pm.

Bronco Men's Tennis Falls At LMU
March 24, 2014Playing its third straight West Coast Conference match on the road, No. 53 Santa Clara fell 4-0 at LMU on Monday afternoon. The Broncos are 10-3 and 2-1 in the WCC and the Lions are 10-5 and 2-2 in the WCC. LMU has won six straight matches. The order of finish was 2-3 in doubles and 6-4-3 in singles.
