John Lamble Ranked No. 64 to Enter Senior Year

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The ITA announced its 2013 Division I Men's Preseason Rankings this week and Santa Clara Bronco senior John Lamble is ranked No. 64. Lamble, the Broncos' No. 1 singles and doubles player, anchored the roster last season and has been a key contributor each of his three years on the squad.

"It's a nice honor to start the preseason ranked, but we all know that the work you do during the season is the true test of how good he can be," said Bronco head coach Derek Mills. "I am looking forward to seeing how John competes during his senior season."

This summer, Lamble has been preparing diligently to lead the Broncos back to the NCAA Tournament in 2014.

The 6-0 righty traveled to the Midwest and played in four Futures tournaments, which are low-level professional tournaments. He also spent two weeks in Spain training five hours per day. Read more about Lamble's summer and Bronco tennis career here.

Lamble provided stability and leadership in the top spots throughout the entire 2013 season. He finished the season ranked No. 89 nationally by the ITA, was named First-Team All-WCC and received WCC Player of the Month honors for March.

The Saratoga, Calif. native amassed a 20-14 overall record which placed him second on the team in wins and he went 15-9 in dual matches.

In doubles, Lamble was All-WCC honorable mention with Ilya Osintsev. The duo went 10-6 playing No. 1 for the Broncos, and Lamble finished 14-9 overall including several matches at No. 2. The pair finished the year with five straight wins and seven in eight matches. Lamble and Osintsev played a huge part in helping Santa Clara win five consecutive doubles points to conclude the season.
