SANTA CLARA, Calif.- Senior tennis player John Lamble and junior Ilya Osintsev are heading up to San Francisco this weekend to compete in the Battle of the Bay Tennis Classic. Lamble and Osintsev will be competing in both singles and doubles.  The Battle of the Bay begins on Fri., Oct. 11th and runs through Sun., Oct. 13th.

The Battle of the Bay Classic marks the start of the season for Osintsev, who posted a 12-14 singles record a season ago. Osintsev was named the 2012 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year and helped lead the team to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Lamble and Osintsev are embarking on their third year as doubles partners and look to build on their previous success. As doubles partners in 2012-13, Lamble and Osintsev posted an 8-6 record.
The Battle of the Bay was started in 2009 by USF men's tennis coach Peter Bartlett, his assistant Pablo Pires de Almeida and the California Club Director of Tennis, Steve Jackson.
