Lamble Moves On To Round of 16 in Singles and Doubles at ITA Regionals

MORAGA, Calif.- The Santa Clara men's tennis team wrapped up its second day at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Northwest Regional Championships today. The Broncos had a successful Day 2 at the Regionals, winning both of today's matches.

The tournament's No. 3 seed, John Lamble, battled back for a third round singles victory over Cal's Mads Engsted. After dropping the opener 6-2, the Saratoga native rebounded with a 6-3 second set win to force a deciding third set. Lamble emerged with the 6-3 final, showing off his impressive endurance and finishing ability. The Bronco senior was 6-2 in three-set matches last year.

In the second round of the men's doubles draw, Lamble and Sam Bertram made their first appearance together. The duo downed Sam Bloore and Thomas Hunt of St. Mary's 8-5.

The two Broncos will look to build on their Day 2 success and continue advancing in the ITA Regionals on Sunday.
