SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- In addition to working hard on the court, Santa Clara's Logan Chun aced his responsibilities in the classroom. On Thursday, the senior economics major was named to the West Coast Conference's All-Academic Team.
Chun's 3.76 GPA this season was the third-highest mark among all WCC men's tennis student-athletes who also received a spot on the annual list.
In order to be considered for the award at the conclusion of each season, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.20 as well as make significant contributions to their respective squad's overall success.
Chun has spent the past two years wearing the red and white for Santa Clara competing in both singles and doubles action. Before transitioning to life on the Mission Campus, the Hawaii native played at Oberlin College in Ohio.
This recent announcement comes days after the men's tennis team wrapped up its 2013-14 season at the WCC Championships in San Diego, Calif. Entering as the No. 4 seed, the Broncos edged out Saint Mary's College 4-3 in their opening round matchup, cruised to a 4-0 victory over the University of San Francisco in the quarterfinals, but fell in the semifinals 4-2 to the No. 1 seeded Toreros from the University of San Diego.
The Broncos ended their season with a 17-7 overall record and 5-4 mark in conference action. During the season, the men rattled off an eight-match winning streak and posted a 12-2 record at the Degheri Tennis Center.
