AS A JUNIOR IN 2017-18: Named to the All-WCC Singles First Team with a 14-10 overall record on court one ... played the entire season on court one in both singles and doubles.  FALL: Posted a 4-3 singles record and a 4-4 doubles record … Opened the season going two for three in the ‘A’ bracket at the Aggie Invitational. SPRING: Played all matches on court one in both singles and doubles ... finished with a 10-7 singles record including 2-2 in conference play ... strung together eight consecutive singles wins to start the spring season from Jan. 20 to Feb. 25 ... posted a 12-7 doubles record teaming up with Robert Seby on court one ... 4-4 doubles record in conference ... along with Seby, beat USD's No. 63 doubles team of August Holmgren and Joel Gamerov 6-4 on April 8 to help sweep the Toreros 4-0. 

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2016-17: Named to the All-WCC Singles Second Team. FALL: Posted the best record on the team at 5-3, including winning his last three matches ... Teamed with Vasileios Iliopoulos in doubles play and went 3-2 ... Finished the fall season at the Saint Mary's Invitational winning each of his four (two singles and two doubles) matches. SPRING: Gu went 13-5 in singles play during dual action, going 13-4 on court two and 0-1 on court one ... began the season partnering with Vasileios Iliopoulos in doubles play and the duo went 4-3 on court two ... Gu then played with Kamran Khan and went 5-5 on court three.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2015-16: SINGLES: finished with a 13-9 record on the season ... 11-8 mark in dual match play ... scored his first collegiate victory after downing Alex Hunt from Saint Mary's by a score of 6-4, 6-4 on October 2 ... outlasted No. 66 Fresno State's Youssef Hassan 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 on January 30 ... rallied to take down No. 59 Arkansas' Giammarco Micolani 2-6, 7-6, 1-0(10-7) on February 21 ... clinched the match against UMKC on February 27 after taking down Uldis Gaismins 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 ... clinched Santa Clara's 4-0 win over Hawaii on March 12 with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Igor Kolaric. DOUBLES: 3-1 record on the season with partner Kamran Khan ... clinched the doubles point against USF with a 7-6 victory on April 17 ... duo clinched the doubles point against No. 28 USD on April 24, marking the first time USD lost the doubles point in 14 WCC matches ... 4-5 record on the season with partner Ashot Khacharyan ... sealed the doubles point against Grand Canyon's Felix Schueller and Alexander Roggenkamp with a 7-6 winner on March 11 ... 1-1 record on the season with partner Max Heerinckx ... 0-2 record on the season with partner Robert Seby ... 2-1 record on the season with partner Robert Seby.

HIGH SCHOOL: attended Albany High School in local El Cerrito, Calif. … ranked No. 40 in the nation and No. 10 in California in singles … NCS singles champion in 2011 and 2012
