Men's Tennis To Compete In The Pacific Tigers Invitational

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis travels back to Stockton, California to play in the Pacific Tiger Invitational this Friday through Sunday, a week after playing in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships at the same venue.
 
Playing at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center on the campus of the University of the Pacific, the Broncos will feature a six-player roster consisting of Connor Garnett, Andrew Gu, Vasileios Iliopoulos, Kamran Khan, Sebastien Mathieu and Robert Seby.  Each will see both singles and doubles action.  
 
In doubles play, Garnett will be paired with Khan, Iliopoulos with Mathieu and Gu with Seby.
 
Eight schools have been invited to the tournament, they include: Cal Poly, Fresno State, Holy Names, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, Sonoma State and UC Davis.   
 
The Broncos are coming off the ITA Regionals which saw three players advance to the round of 32 in the 128 player singles draw with Garnett advancing to the round of 16, defeating fourth seeded Akihiro Tanaka of Oregon along the way.  Kamran Khan and Jesus Tapiador Barajas also advanced to the round of 32.
 
For Garnett, he improved upon last year's results in the regionals when he advanced to the round of 32.  
 
The Pacific Tiger Invitational will mark the end of the fall schedule for the Broncos.  Santa Clara will start its spring season on January 20-21 when it travels to West Point, New York to play Yale, Army and Florida Atlantic.
