Pacific Tigers Invitational Draws/Result
STOCKTON, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis doubles team of Connor Garnett and Kamran Khan will be playing in Sunday's finals of the Pacific Tigers Invitational after a pair of wins in day two of the tournament on Saturday.
One of its wins came against the fellow Bronco tandem of Andrew Gu and Robert Seby in the semifinals, winning 8-7(4).
Garnett/Khan will play the number one doubles seed, Mikus Losbergs and Kasparas Zemaitelis of Sacramento State at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
While the doubles play highlighted Saturday's action for the Broncos, the team also picked up five singles wins including Garnett and Gu each advancing to the singles quarterfinals.
Garnett defeated UC Davis' Chethan Swanson, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6(4) and Gu beat Alexander Stater from Cal Poly in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3 to move to the quarterfinals before losing.
Sebastien Mathieu picked up two singles wins and Khan had a singles win in the consolation bracket for the Broncos.
The final day of the championships on Sunday will include the doubles portion in the morning hours followed by the singles play.
