Men’s Tennis Returns To Action On Sunday Against New Mexico
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After a week off, the Santa Clara men's tennis returns to action this Sunday when it hosts New Mexico at 11 a.m.  The Broncos will look to extend its four game winning streak.

"The team's had a great couple of weeks of training.  Having last weekend off enabled us to work on some of the things that we needed to do to get ourselves in a position to play well this Sunday, especially in doubles and continuing to work on our specific goals in singles," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.

Since losing its first two matches of the dual match season, the Broncos have posted four sweeps, not conceding a single point in wins against Army, Holy Names, Sonoma State and Santa Cruz.

The Broncos have a trio of players who are undefeated in singles playing during the dual match season with Connor Garnett and Andrew Gu posting a 4-0 record and Sebastien Mathieu at 3-0.

In doubles play, Gu and Robert Seby playing at the first position, has a team-best 5-1 record.

The Lobos (4-2) have won its last three matches, all coming last weekend against Nebraska Omaha, Michigan State and Drake in Des Moines, Iowa.  New Mexico will play Pacific on Friday before facing the Broncos on Sunday.

"New Mexico is a very good team.  It'll be great to test ourselves against a team that's on the rise.  I'm looking for some good energy from the team on Sunday," said Angus.
