Men’s Tennis Lose To Portland, 4-1, on Thursday
PORTLAND, Ore. – Santa Clara men's tennis lost on the road to Portland, 4-1, in a West Coast Conference match on Thursday afternoon at Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center.

The Broncos  (9-7, 1-2 WCC) got off to a good start clinching the doubles point on Andrew Gu and Robert Seby's 7-5 win over Mathieu Garcia and Pierre Garcia on court No. 1.  Playing in the third position, Connor Garnett and Kamran Khan defeated Carlos Donat and Jamie Fisher, 6-3, for the other doubles win for Santa Clara.

However, Santa Clara could not keep the momentum going in singles play as the Pilots (7-7, 2-2 WCC) won four consecutive matches including the clincher by 52nd-ranked Michail Pervolarakis.  Pervolarakis, the reigning conference Player of the Year, needed three sets to take down Gu 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, on court No. 1.

Next up for the Broncos is a trip to Spokane, Washington to take on Gonzaga on Saturday.  First serve is at 10 a.m. PT.
