Men’s Tennis Signs Four-Star Recruit
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis signed Ryan Ali, a four-star recruit out of Tamalpais High in Mill Valley, Calif., to a National Letter-Of-Intent to join the program for the 2019-20 season.  Broncos head coach Niall Angus made the announcement.

"I chose Santa Clara because of the immediate comfortable feeling I felt while on campus and with the team.  After meeting the coaching staff, I saw the intensity and experience they brought to the team, practice and program.  Most of all, they believe in my game and I trust they will help me reach my highest potential on and off the court.  The family atmosphere was unbelievable and I'm looking forward to competing for the Broncos," said Ali.

The right-handed Ali was the first freshman to win the West Catholic Athletic League individual title in nine years while attending St. Ignatius College Preparatory in 2016.  Ali led St. Ignatius to back-to-back undefeated campaigns in 2016 and 2017, winning the WCAL, Central Coast Section and the NorCal championships.

"Ryan is a hard working, fiery competitor.  He's someone that loves competition and someone who we think can grow as a player as the years go on.  Ryan is the epitome of a team player and can elevate our team culture," said Angus.  "He is a counter-puncher who plays well off the baseline from both wings.  He fights hard, is gritty and determined."
