Men’s Tennis Loses to No. 27 San Diego

SAN DIEGO – Santa Clara men's tennis lost, 5-0 to No. 27 San Diego on Sunday at the Hogan Tennis Center.  
 
San Diego (15-4, 5-1 WCC) dominated play dropping just one set on the day with Joel Gamerov clinching the match on court three over Vasileios Iliopoulos, 6-2, 6-4.  
 
The Toreros picked up the doubles point when Noah Dufort and David Norfeldt downed Connor Garnett and Kamran Khan, 6-3 on court three.   
 
Santa Clara (12-6, 3-3 WCC) could not stop San Diego's momentum as the Toreros won four-straight singles matches. 
 
On court five, Norfeldt beat Arthur Neuhaus, 6-1, 6-2 to put the Toreros up 2-0 in the team score.  No. 64-ranked Gui Osorio defeated Andrew Gu, 6-1, 6-1 on court one before Gamerov's match clincher.  
 
August Holmgren's 6-3, 6-2 win over Connor Garnett on court two provided the final margin of victory.  
 
NEXT UP
The Broncos will host San Francisco on Saturday to kickoff a four-match homestand.
