Men’s Tennis Rallies to Beat Cal Poly, 4-3 on Sunday
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Vasileios Ilipoulos beat Alex Stater in three-sets to complete Santa Clara men's tennis' come-from-behind win over Cal Poly, 4-3 on Sunday at the Degheri Tennis Center.  
 
Trailing 3-1 in the team score, Santa Clara (14-6) rallied with three straight singles wins by Robert Seby, Arthur Neuhaus and Ilopoulos to earn the win.  
 
Playing on court three, Iliopoulos took down Stater, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 in the only three set match of the day and was mobbed by his teammates after match point.  
 
Santa Clara faced an uphill battle from the get go losing the doubles point.  
 
Cal Poly went up 2-0 when Antoine Noel took down Connor Garnett, 6-1, 6-1 on court two.  
 
The Broncos finally got on the board on Santiago Hinojosa's triumph over Andrew Whitehouse, 6-4, 6-2 on court six to close the Mustangs lead to 2-1.
 
Josh Ortlip put the Mustangs on the brink of a victory with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Andrew Gu on court one before the Broncos started its rally.  
 
Seby defeated Gary Vardanyan, 6-4, 6-3 on court four and Arthur Neuhaus tied the score up at 3-all with his victory over roman Shenkiryk, 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 to set up the stage for Iliopoulos' heroics.
