With the win, Santa Clara (15-6, 5-3 WCC) pulled ahead of LMU (6-14, 4-4 WCC) in the conference standings as the two squads were jockeying for a higher seed in next week's conference tournament.  The top six teams qualify for the tournament with the Broncos currently sitting in the fourth position.

"To beat a team like LMU in doubles especially when we haven't been as successful as we have been in the singles court was a really promising thing to see," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.  "And the way we jump started in singles was exciting."

On court three, senior Connor Garnett put the Broncos up 2-0 with his win over Nava, 6-2, 6-3.

"The seniors played great today, in particular Connor played a fantastic match," said Angus.

Iliopoulos gave Santa Clara a 3-0 lead on court four defeating Lucas Moreno, 6-2, 6-2.

Di Giulio kept LMU from getting swept with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Arthur Neuahsu on court six before Seby closed out the match.

"With today's win and Jesus Barajas' return from an injury, I think we are in a really good position to play free on senior day," said Angus about Saturday's season finale match against Pepperdine where four seniors, Garnett, Gu, Khan and Seby will be honor prior to the 11 a.m. first serve.
