Men’s Tennis to Play Final Fall Tournament at Pacific Tiger Invitational
2019 Pacific Tiger Invitational Draws/Results

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis plays its final tournament of the fall at the Pacific Tiger Invitational starting Friday.  The three-day tournament hosted by the University of the Pacific will be played at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center on campus.

Five Broncos will participate in the tournament as seniors Jesus Tapiador Barajas and Vasileios Iliopoulos will sit out.   Each player is allowed to play in a total of 25 matches between the fall and spring seasons.  With 22 matches scheduled for the spring, the Broncos tandem has already played in three tournaments this fall, including at the pre-qualifying of the ITA All-American Championships, compared to two for the rest of the squad.

"Going into the final tournament of the fall, we've got one last opportunity to get some match practice and gain some match toughness to demonstrate what we've been doing in practice.  With the talent we have on this team, we're hoping to achieve some good results," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.

The biggest thing we're looking for is some grit, some determination.  We work physically hard but it's about having that toughness on the court that comes with more matches, especially for the younger players.  Tournament play gives them the opportunity to showcase that in some tight match scenarios that are going to help us in the spring."

Play will start at 8:30 a.m. each morning with doubles.  The format will be up to three doubles and singles flights (orange, black and white).
