Men’s Tennis Concludes Seven Straight on the Road, Faces UNLV
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis closes out a stretch of seven straight matches away from home when they face UNLV on Saturday at 11 a.m.

"The experience we are getting on the road is invaluable," Broncos head coach Niall Angus.  "We've probably played the strongest schedule so far out of anyone in our conference.  So being able to test ourselves against that type of competition will give us the confidence we need throughout the rest of the season that we can hang with anyone."

Unlike the Santa Clara spring schedule, UNLV (4-0) has a front-loaded home slate playing their first 10 matches in Las Vegas.  The Rebels kicked off their dual match season last weekend sweeping a pair of doubleheaders, including a 4-1 win over West Coast Conference's Pacific.

UNLV will face Northern Arizona on Friday before playing the Broncos on Saturday.

The Broncos (2-4) are coming off a weekend split in the Pacific Northwest beating Portland State 5-2 while falling to Oregon 6-1.

"We had a strong weekend in terms of development as a team," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.  "Playing against one of the better teams in the west in Oregon, we were right in that match.  It came down to the last doubles match and in singles, we had two matches that were 7-6 in the third set which could've gone either way.  That would've made it a 4-3 match so we were right there.  We just need to play a match where we can turn those key points around in our favor.  And then playing against Portland State, we didn't play our best tennis but we managed to get through with a win which is a testament of a tough team."
