SAN DIEGO – Mann Shah posted a three-set win to clinch the match for Santa Clara men's tennis over San Diego State 4-2 in a nonconference match on Monday.

Playing at No. 2, Shah defeated Victor Castro 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 to put the Broncos (7-7) back on the win column after Sunday's loss to San Diego in a West Coast Conference match.  Santa Clara has now won four of their last five matches.  

After losing the doubles point, Santa Clara put together three-straight singles wins to take a 3-1 lead.

The first singles victory came at No. 3 when Arthur Neuhaus handled Ignacio Martinez in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.  Guillaume Dalmasso then took care of Aaro Pollanen 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 followed by Dominic Barretto's win over Johannes Seeman 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 1.

Barretto moved back atop the lineup for the first time since Feb. 28 and came through with a strong performance.

San Diego State (4-13) closed the gap to 3-2 at No. 6 when Judson Blair defeated Vasileios Iliopoulos 6-3, 6-3 before Shah sealed the deal.

The Broncos will host San Francisco on Saturday in the spring season finale.  It will be Senior Day for Vasileios Iliopoulos and Dominic Barretto.
