Spring 2021 Oracle ITA Division I Men's Regional Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – Santa Clara men's tennis finished No. 5 in the Spring 2021 Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional team rankings while Dominic Barretto and Mann Shah were top-20 in singles with Vasileios Iliopoulos and Arthur Neuhaus ranked No. 5 in doubles.

The ITA released the rankings for the 2021 dual match season that includes the top 10 teams, top 20 singles and top 10 doubles for every region.

This past spring, Santa Clara posted an 8-7 record winning five of the last six matches.

The No. 5 ranking was the highest among all WCC schools in the Northwest region that includes Portland, San Francisco, Gonzaga and Saint Mary's.

Second-team All-WCC singles selection Dominic Barretto was ranked No. 15 in singles. The graduate transfer from Cal played in the top three spots of the singles lineup all season going 8-7.  Barretto won eight of his last 10 matches including two wins in a week at No. 1 to be tabbed ITA Universal Tennis Rating Division I National Player of the Week.  He is the first Santa Clara tennis player, men or women, to win the coveted ITA UTR Division I National Player of the Week honors.

All-WCC honorable mention Mann Shah was placed No. 17 in the regional rankings among singles players.  Shah finished the year 7-8 including 3-7 at No. 1 and 4-1 at No. 2.  The sophomore from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India won three of his last four matches.

Iliopoulos and Neuhaus, who were named second-team All-WCC doubles, was ranked No. 5.  The Bronco duo teamed up in 11 doubles matches and finished with a 5-3 record, all atop the Bronco lineup.  They ended the year on a four-match winning streak including taking down the No. 77-ranked doubles team in the nation, August Holmgren and David Norfeldt of San Diego on the road.
