SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's tennis lost to Florida Atlantic, 5-2, in a neutral site match at the Arnhold Tennis Center on the campus of UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.
The Broncos (4-5) quickly found themselves in a 3-0 hole, dropping the doubles point and the first two singles matches. Guillaume Dalmasso got the Broncos on the board when he defeated Carles Sarrio, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 2 to make it 3-1.
However, Kevin Huempfner came back to beat Arthur Neuhaus, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-0, atop the lineup to clinch the match for Florida Atlantic (9-1).
Santiago Hinojosa was the other victorious Bronco on the afternoon downing Gerard Escandell, 7-5, 2-6, 7-5, at No. 5 on the final match.
