WCC Release

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis player Guillaume Dalmasso was named West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week on Tuesday after winning two WCC matches atop the singles lineup.

The sophomore from Aix en Provence, France, moved to the No. 1 spot in the Broncos singles lineup last week and responded with a pair of victories to help Santa Clara go undefeated on the week at 3-0.

On Friday, Dalmasso defeated James Watt of Saint Mary's 6-2, 6-3 to claim the first singles point for the Broncos to even the team score at 1-all before SCU went on to win 4-1 in the league opener.

The following day, Dalmasso took down Pacific's Aleska Mardjonovic 6-1, 6-4 to put Santa Clara up 3-1 in a match the Broncos would eventually win 4-1.

Dalmasso has won four-straight singles matches and 14 of his last 16 to lead the team with an overall 22-6 record including 10-2 this spring.

It is the first such honor for Dalmasso.

The Broncos next play on April 1 at Portland.
