Men's Tennis Drops Tough One to Saint Mary's

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Saint Mary's in another tough conference match. In doubles, the Broncos Steven Benvenuto and Jay Wong won 8-5 at the No. 1 position over the Gaels Gerald Ellison and Andrea Zannino; however Santa Clara could not pull out the doubles point with losses in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

Kenzo Hirakawa-Wong earned the only singles victory and point of the day with a win at the No. 4 position. Hirakawa-Wong defeated Saint Mary's Achim Christner 6-3, 6-3.

The Broncos return to the court on Sunday March 9, when they host Sacramento State at the Degheri Tennis Center.
