Men's Tennis Earns No. 74 National Ranking

Feb. 18, 2010

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - On Thursday afternoon updated national college tennis rankings were released, with Santa Clara men's tennis ranked No. 74 among Division I programs. On top of a second consecutive top 25 nationally ranked recruiting class, this No. 74 ranking solidifies the dawning of a new era in Bronco men's tennis.

"To be ranked among the top 75 teams in the country is huge for any Division I program," said Santa Clara head coach Derek Mills. "This is a big step forward for our team and the future of Santa Clara tennis."

The Broncos are currently 5-2 on the season and are coming off of two consecutive wins versus Idaho and then-No. 74 UNLV. With this momentum, Santa Clara heads into this weekend's homestand looking to extend its win streak versus Sonoma State on Saturday, Feb. 20 and West Coast Conference opponent Loyola Marymount on Sunday, Feb. 21. Matches are set to begin at 12 p.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.
