Men's Tennis Earns No. 57 National Ranking

March 9, 2010

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - This afternoon the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings came out, with the Santa Clara men's tennis team earning a No. 57 national ranking. The Broncos earned a No. 74 ranking on Feb. 18 but fell out of the national standings shortly after. Today's No. 57 spot is two rankings short of the program's highest ranking at No. 55 during the 2001-2002 season.

"I am really happy for our guys," said SCU head coach Derek Mills. "It is really exciting to climb through the rankings and this definitely motivates us to keep improving. West Coast Conference seedings are based on the national rankings, so now it's important for us to keep working hard and continue to make our way through the rankings."

This weekend, the No. 57 Broncos will host UAB on Sunday, Mar. 14 at 2:00 p.m. This match will begin a seven-match, month-long home stand for SCU.
