Men's Water Polo Drops Heartbreaker to No. 15 Pacific in OT, 16-15

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University's men's water polo team played a very good game on Sunday morning in the Leavey Pool but came up just short to the No. 15 Pacific Tigers, falling 16-15 in overtime.

Jay Moorehead scored six times to lead the Broncos, while Nick Takahashi and Dan Figoni each added three. Dan O'Connell scored twice and Kenny Flanagan added one to close out the Broncos scoring.

Jared Pendergrass led the 15th-ranked tigers on the afternoon with a match-high eight goals, including the game-winner that came with only 1:25 remaining in the overtime period.

The Broncos will next face the USC Trojans on Friday, October 26 at 5 p.m. Santa Clara will take on the traditional water polo powerhouse USC in Saratoga, Calif. at West Valley Junior College.
