POMONA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's water polo team (9-9) added two more wins on Saturday to finish the Claremont Convergence Tournament a perfect 4-0 after getting wins against University of La Verne and Pomona-Pitzer colleges.

Once again, the Broncos came out firing and rolled right past La Verne with a 14-6 victory. Freshman Liam Farrell topped the scoresheet netting a hat trick, along with help from nine other goalscorers. Kevin Starry had two goals, as did Patrick Noack. Andrew Fitch, Luke Oda and Chris Parolin helped jumpstart the attack, drawing two kickouts each, not to mention Oda and Parolin adding assists of their own. After a lights-out performance against Occidental, goalie Jon Young had six blocks and added an assist.

Santa Clara took the win and kept their intensity level high as they took on tournament co-host Pomona. Farrell had yet another hat-trick, and Jack Wall had his biggest performance of the tournament with a hat-trick of his own as 11 different players scored in the victory. Rob Callahan had 11 blocks and two assists in the victory.

On the weekend, Santa Clara finished the tournament 4-0 with all four wins coming against WWPA teams, bringing their conference record to 7-1 and improving their overall record to an even 9-9. Liam Farrell earned a WWPA Player of the Week nomination for his performance, contributing 12 goals, including three hat-tricks this weekend. Other notables include individual and team records set in Friday's matches. Santa Clara and goalie Rob Callahan allowed a season-low three goals against Chapman, while goalie Jon Young allowed a personal season-low of four goals Friday against Occidental.

The Broncos will be back at home next week as they host UC Santa Cruz on Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Malley Pool.
