SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After opening the season Saturday at home, the Santa Clara men's water polo team begins a stretch of 10 straight road contests Friday at the Princeton Invitational.

The Broncos (0-1) play Iona (3-1) at 4:15 p.m. Pacific in their first of four games at the four-day event, which kicks off Thursday, in Princeton, New Jersey.

Santa Clara, which opened the season with a tough 10-9 loss to San Jose State, plays a pair of games Saturday. The Broncos face host Princeton (3-0) at 8:45 a.m. then Connecticut College (0-0) at 12:30 p.m.

Santa Clara closes out its East Coast trip Sunday, facing Fordham (3-1) at 5:45 a.m.

Graham McClone has the early lead on the Santa Clara scoring chart. The junior driver tallied a team-best four goals and drew a pair of kickouts Saturday against the Spartans. DeMarco Orella had two goals and Ryan Werner dished out three assists.

In addition, freshman Keaton Fox distinguished himself well in his first-career start in net with eight blocks.

Last year at this event, Santa Clara defeated Iona and St. Francis, but was upended by Brown and Harvard. The Broncos faced Princeton at home later in the year, losing 12-7.

Games will be held in Princeton's DeNunzio Pool and streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network, which is subscription based ($9.95 per day/$15.95 per month).
