McClone of Men's Water Polo Earns All-America Recognition

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) recognized the Santa Clara men's team Sunday as senior Graham McClone earned honorable mention All-America honors from the organization.

McClone, also a 2016 second-team All-Western Water Polo Association honoree, led the team in goals (58), assists (33), steals (38) and earned ejections (54) on the season while starting every game for head coach Keith Wilbur. He is one of 47 student-athletes to earn All-America accolades and Santa Clara is one of 18 teams represented.

"He was a captain and had an outstanding senior year," Wilbur said. "I am very happy to see that his play was recognized by the Association of College Water Polo Coaches."

McClone ended his career ranked in a number of Santa Clara statistical categories.

The Placerville, California, native played in 118 career games, racking up 170 goals, 120 assists, 134 steals, and 144 earned ejections. He finished his career sixth on the school's all-time goals list, fourth in assists, fifth in steals, and fifth in earned ejections.
