Men’s Water Polo Drops Two on Final Day of Aggie Roundup

DAVIS, Calif. – Santa Clara men's water polo dropped its final two games at the Aggie Roundup, which was held Saturday and Sunday at UC Davis. The Broncos fell to San Jose State, 18-10, before losing to second-ranked USC, 20-3, on Sunday.

GAME 1: Strong Opening Half Leads Spartans to Win

Finn Pardon scored a game-high five goals to lead San Jose State to an 18-10 win on Sunday, during final-day action at the Aggie Roundup at Schaal Aquatics Center.

Sam Toriggino, Jack Larkin and Patrick Kirk each scored twice for the Broncos (4-5) who were 6-for-10 with the man advantage, but fell behind early.

Pardon had four of his five goals in the opening half, helping the Spartans (3-3) build a 7-1 lead in the second quarter.

GAME 2: Second-Ranked USC Down the Broncos

Santa Clara was upended by No. 2-ranked USC, 20-3, on Sunday in the team's final game of the UC Davis tournament, which was held at Schaal Aquatics Center.

The Trojans (8-0) raced out to 7-0 lead in the opening five minutes of the game and never looked back.

Dane Estrella had two of the goals for Santa Clara.
