DAVIS, Calif. - Ido Goldschmidt, Spencer Galli, and Morgan Olson-Fabbro each scored two goals to lead No. 10 UC Davis past Santa Clara men's water polo 11-5 on Saturday in a Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) matchup.
The Broncos (4-8, 0-2) were led offensively by sophomore Ryan Werner who matched his career high with three goals, while Mac Carey and Patrick Kirk added one apiece.
"Ryan had a good game and shot the ball very well on our 6 on 5," said head coach Keith Wilbur.
Werner's second goal cut the UC Davis lead to 9-4 late in the third quarter, but the Aggies (11-5, 3-0) scored twice midway through the fourth.
The Broncos were stronger on their counterattacks today.
"Our counter defense was better than the past few games, but there are areas we can improve on half court defense and offense," said Wilbur.
