SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The Santa Clara men's water polo team travels to San Diego this Friday for the three-day Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Championship tournament.

The Broncos (7-15, 2-5), who are seeded No. 7, will play host UC San Diego, which is ranked 12th and seeded No. 2, at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.

Santa Clara suffered a loss, 13-9, against UC San Diego on earlier this season at the Triton's home pool, but have been preparing for the rematch.

"We played UC San Diego three weeks ago, and we hadn't seen them up until that point," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "We've watched film, and there are definitely certain areas of the game that we can improve upon. We have been focusing on those areas in practice the past two weeks. We also have a much better knowledge of their personnel. They are a very good team, and we will need to put it all together and be playing at our best in order to win. This is the time of year to do that."
