Two Players Earn Western Water Polo Association Honors

DAVIS, Calif.– Two Santa Clara men's water polo players were honored by the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) on Wednesday.

Senior driver DeMarco Orella was named second team All-WWPA, while 2-meter defender Jack Rottman was named to All-Freshman squad.

Orella ranks second on the team with 31 assists and is tied for second with 25 goals. Orella has started all 22 games this season.  

Rottman has played 21 games, all as a reserve. He has drawn nine kickouts and three 5-meter penalties, and accumulated five steals and two goals. Rottman is one of three freshmen playing this season.

Santa Clara travels to San Diego for the three-day WWPA Championship, which begins Friday. The Broncos take on host and No. 2 seed UC San Diego on Friday at 12:45 p.m.
