SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's water polo team had five players honored by earning a spot on the 2017 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Men's All-Academic Team.
Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average, athletes receive Outstanding (4.00-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41) or Excellent (3.40-3.20) distinction.
A total of 354 athletes were named to the team with the ACWPC awarding 92 Outstanding, 145 Superior and 117 Excellent accolades.
Arvin Bahia and Reilley May were named Outstanding. Mac Carey, Shane Hughes and Sam Toriggino were Excellent.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC.
