DAVIS, Calif. – Santa Clara men's water polo had eight players honored by the Western Water Polo Association for their work in the classroom.
Arvin Bahia, Mac Carey, Shane Hughes, Jack Larkin, Reilley May, Sam Toriggino, Judge Washer and Scott Zurnacian earned spots on the WWPA All-Academic team.
To be eligible, a player must have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's games during 2017 and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Honorees must also be full-time students and have completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters at his institution.
Bahia, Carey, Hughes May and Toriggino were also named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Academic team.
