Men's Water Polo Opens Preseason Practice

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Preseason practice kicked off for Santa Clara men's water polo on Thursday.

The Broncos will work out during the course of the next two weeks before their first competition.

They will serve as host to a preseason exhibition tournament on Saturday, Sept. 1, before opening the regular season on Friday, Sept. 7. The home opener is set for Wednesday, Sept. 19, against Cal.

Santa Clara returns an experienced group as Sam Toriggino, Reilley May, Mac Carey and Shane Hughes all started more than 20 games last season. Patrick Kirk was inserted in the starting lineup for the second half of 2017 and produced a team-best 32 goals.
