Gary Troyer Tournament Central

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo will play in its third-straight tournament when it heads to Southern California this weekend.

The Broncos face Cal Lutheran and Wagner on Friday, and La Verne and Occidental on Saturday in the Gary Troyer Tournament. The two-day, 22-team event will take place at Pomona-Pitzer, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and the University of La Verne.

Two weeks ago, the Broncos (4-4) won three of four games in the Aggie Roundup, with the lone loss coming to No. 8-ranked California.

"We have been working a lot on defensive awareness and communication, and we have also been adding some wrinkles to different sets on offense and defense, head coach Keith Wilbur said."

In the 40-game tournament, Santa Clara faces Cal Lutheran (2-6) at 12:20 p.m. on Friday at Pomona-Pitzer, then heads over to La Verne to face Wagner (3-11) at 4:20 p.m. Saturday's contests will also be at La Verne.  The Broncos play the host Leopards (4-6) at 10:20 a.m. and Occidental (4-5) at 2:20 p.m
